Casting Call!

If you’re one of the thousands of Boston residents who have taken advantage of Renew Boston and are already saving money and energy, Renew Boston wants to interview you!

Your experience makes you a great ambassador for energy efficiency with your fellow Boston residents. In an effort to help others understand the opportunities of saving money by saving energy, as well as how to connect to efficiency programs offered through Renew Boston, we’re starting to interview people who have success stories to share.

The 10- to 20-minute interviews take place at the studio of BNN-TV in Eggleston Square, Roxbury. BNN is Boston’s community access television station. It’s a great way for you to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the TV show is produced while sharing your story at the same time. Interviews will be broadcast on BNN, so your story could reach thousands of viewers!

On our first day of taping we talked with homeowners Emily and Carl Lowenberg. They spoke about all the work that they have done in their classic Boston triple-decker. Like many similar structures in the city, their building did not have any insulation when they started. But the Lowenbergs contacted Renew Boston to find out how to keep their home warm during the winter and more efficient year-round. Since then, the home has been fully insulated. Plus they’ve switched out old lightbulbs for new and added motion detectors so that the lights shut off when they are not needed. They’ve even added solar panels on the roof! The Lowenbergs plan to continue making their home more environmentally sustainable.

So how about you? Share your story and help spread the word about the savings you’ve achieved thanks to Renew Boston. You can volunteer to be interviewed about your Renew Boston experience by filling out this 5-question survey . Thanks!
