New Rebates for Smart Thermostats
Have you ever been at work or on vacation and suddenly become worried that maybe you forgot to turn down your thermostat? With a “smart thermostat” and a computer or smart phone, you could easily restore your calm by checking your home’s thermostat remotely.
Smart, or internet-connected, thermostats have been commercially available only for a couple of years, but the technology is proven and energy planners expect them to become widely popular.
To help spread this new energy-saving technology, Mass Save is offering to customers of Eversource and National Grid with compatible heating systems big discounts on thermostats from Honeywell, Ecobee, and a Massachusetts-based company, Building36. Note that not all heating systems will be compatible with any or all of these new thermostats. Though the thermostats offered are compatible with a wide range of heating and air conditioning systems, not all thermostats are compatible with all systems. Your Thermostat Technician will inform you of the choices compatible with your home.
Prices range from $50 to $85, customers can purchase up to 3 thermostats, and Mass Save will provide professional installation at no additional cost on these three models. You can order these either as part of a full Home Energy Assessment or as a stand-alone service.
