Weatherize with Renew Boston
Mayor Menino’s Renew Boston initiative wants to help you weatherize now. Boston residents, property owners, landlords, and renters who live in or own 1-4 unit buildings can sign up today to get a no-cost energy assessment. Additionally, you may qualify for:
- 75% off insulation and air sealing improvements, up to $2000; For triple-deckers and duplexes where all eligible units are weatherized, incentives include 90% off insulation, up to $3,000 per unit.
- No-cost instant savings measures such as high-efficiency light bulbs for individual units and common areas
- No-cost air sealing
- Rebates for heating and water system upgrades, appliances, and more;
- Pre-weatherization barrier remediation up to a total of $800 for select measures: knob & tube wiring evaluations – $250.00 maximum incentive; combustion safety evaluation & repair to eliminate high carbon monoxide levels – $300.00 maximum incentive; dryer venting replacement/installation/repair – $250.00 maximum incentive
- A 0% interest HEAT Loan to finance qualified energy efficiency upgrades
Through Renew Boston, the City and its partners provide eligible Bostonians with low-hassle, no-cost home energy assessments and efficiency upgrades including insulation, air sealing, water saving devices and high-efficiency light bulbs.
